Q: What is yoga teacher training? What is the promise of the program?

Yoga teacher training is a hand-on training program designed to leave you ready to lead a power vinyasa yoga class.

You will leave Power of Your Om’s Santa Barbara Yoga Teacher Training being a natural leader and an effective educator of the principles and practices of the PoYO teaching methodology as a natural expression of who you are. You will have the ability to powerfully and naturally alter what happens in your classroom environments and in all areas of your life, moment to moment, using the tools of physical yoga (asana), meditation (dhyana) and inquiry (niyama) as a means to positively contribute to the planet and be up to something bigger than ourselves. As a team, we will empower you and anyone willing to push, play, and expand into their fullest potential and to give you access to leave a life- affirming footprint of your own legacy in the world.

Q: Is this teacher training affiliated with an RYS? What sets this program apart from other similar ones?

We are a registered yoga school through Yoga Alliance. Not all schools are registered through yoga alliance, in your search for a school, this quality check can be helpful.

Q: What is the certification that I will be granted once graduated?

Upon completion, you will receive your 200 hour yoga teacher certification

Q: What is the style of the training?

We teach you how to lead a powerful vinyasa yoga class. Students will be learn and to practice teaching a well rounded vinyasa power yoga class..

Q: How many trainees do you accept in teach ytt round?

12 maximum

Q: What is the full financial commitment to this program?

The cost of the deposit for the program is $50. Apply here. The cost (if paid in full) is $3000. Payment plans are available. Cost of books for teacher training range from $30-75.

After teacher training, we require anyone in a teaching/assisting capacity to purchase their own insurance coverage, this ranges from $125 - 200.

Additionally, each in-between weekend, we offer a “teaching pod”. This is a one hour supplementary practice teaching get-together led by a Power of Your Om staff member to keep our teachers in training in the work even when class isn’t in session.

Q: How long will it take to get certified? What is the time commitment?

The 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is comprised of 7 total weekends.The dates for our Spring 2023 Training are March 10 through April 30. The schedule commitment for each training is as follows: Friday 6pm – 10pm, Saturday 8:00am – 8:00pm, Sunday 8:00am – 8:00pm
